DELIFRANCE TO SELL UK VIENNOISERIE BUSINESS

Délifrance to sell UK viennoiserie business ahead of acquisition

Délifrance has announced plans to divest its UK viennoiserie operation as part of the regulatory process linked to its proposed acquisition by Vandemoortele.

The move follows competition concerns over the combined group’s position in the UK frozen pastry market, particularly in laminated products such as croissants and pain au chocolat. By selling the UK business to an independent buyer, the companies aim to preserve market competition and secure regulatory approval.

The divestment is expected to run alongside the final stages of the review process, paving the way for Vandemoortele to strengthen its European frozen bakery presence.
