SAMWORTH BROTHERS NAMES TWO NEW LEADERS

Samworth Brothers Strengthens Leadership with Two Key Appointments

Samworth Brothers has announced two major appointments to its senior leadership team as the business looks to drive growth and strengthen its executive capabilities.

Matt Austin joins the company as Brands & Strategy Director, a newly created role aimed at shaping the strategic direction of the company’s portfolio. Austin brings more than 25 years of commercial and leadership experience from the consumer sector, having held senior positions that combined brand management, revenue growth, and strategic planning. His expertise is expected to support Samworth Brothers’ ambitions for brand innovation and market expansion.

In parallel, Clare Moore has been appointed as Chief People Officer, bringing extensive experience in people management, sustainability, and commercial operations. Moore’s career spans several major organisations where she led initiatives in workforce development, corporate culture, and organisational strategy. Her role will focus on strengthening talent and leadership capabilities across the business.

These appointments follow the recent retirements of long-serving executives, marking a period of transition and renewal at Samworth Brothers. In addition to Austin and Moore, four category managing directors have joined the executive board to bolster leadership across key areas of the business.

Simon Wookey, CEO of Samworth Brothers, commented that the new appointments bring “significant expertise and insight” to the leadership team and will play a central role in guiding the company’s strategic priorities.

With these changes, Samworth Brothers is positioning itself for continued growth, reinforcing leadership across brand strategy, people development, and category management as it seeks to maintain its position at the forefront of the UK food manufacturing industry.
