STORY: The Bread Factory acquires new baking facility

The Bread Factory, a subsidiary of Bread Holdings, has announced the acquisition of a new 70,000 sq ft bakery in Milton Keynes, which will support its significant expansion plans into the foodservice and grocery sectors.

Adding to the current portfolio of bakeries located in North London, Manchester and St Albans, this latest acquisition marks the next phase of growth. The new bakery features world-class production facilities, as well as state-of-the-art freezing and storage capabilities.

With the additional capacity, The Bread Factory will be able to work with even more leading restaurants, hotels and retailers in UK and further afield by supplying both fresh and frozen, innovative, quality bakery products at scale.

“This move is a firm statement of our belief in the power of better baking," says Mathieu Le Bras, the brand's managing director. "I am immensely excited at the growth potential this new bakery brings to our group.”

The new facility will also create new jobs in the local area including skilled bakers and operators.

In September 2021, Bread Holdings, the parent company of The Bread Factory, secured an investment from Bain Capital Credit in partnership with EBITDA Investments, the food ecosystem fund, backed by entrepreneurs Henry McGovern and Steven K. Winegar, to support the bakery in the next growth phase.
