In time for Easter, ASDA and BBF, the leading ambient cake and dessert manufacturer, have teamed up to release two new cakes for Brits to enjoy.

The limited-edition Chick Cake Jar will be available in ASDA stores nationwide from 6th March. Inside the jar, there are layers of tangy lemon curd, crunchy sugar sprinkles, sweet vanilla frosting and madeira sponge topped with an edible chick face.

As well as the new cake jar, BBF has collaborated with ASDA to create a Chick Cake, a soft madeira sponge filled with sweet plum and raspberry jam and delicious buttercream. The sponge is covered with soft icing and finished with edible decorations.

The cheerful duo is now available in ASDA stores nationwide for families to enjoy this Spring. The Chick Cake Jar will retail for £3.50 RRP and serves two, whilst the Chick Cake will retail for £7 RRP and serves eight.

Julie Harris-Hughes, Product Development Manager Asda Brand Bakery, comments: “The Chick Cake Jar is the perfect addition to any Easter party this spring and thanks to its packaging, it is easy to transport when visiting friends and family. To add to this, its mix of tangy lemon curd with crunchy sugar sprinkles makes it ideal for anyone seeking an alternative to chocolate for the little ones. The Chick Cake is also set to be a firm favourite amongst consumers with its classic madeira sponge and sweet plum and raspberry jam filling.”

“Creating new and exciting products is what BBF is all about, and we are confident that these new bakes will bring joy to many households across the nation. As we finally leave the winter months behind us, spring brings garden parties and family get togethers, which just wouldn’t be complete without a sweet treat on the table,” adds Jonathan Lill, CEO of BBF.

BBF and ASDA have worked closely together for many years, providing delicious, ambient cakes for consumers across the UK to enjoy.

BBF develops and manufactures an extensive range of high-quality ambient cake products across several different categories including celebration cakes, fruit pies and tarts, chocolate enrobed cakes, Christmas cakes and mince pies. The baker produces more than 600 million cakes and desserts annually.
