Bakers wanting to take part in one of the industry's most-loved fundraising initiatives will be pleased to hear that National Doughnut Week 2023 will take place between 20-28 May.

National Doughnut Week raised £36,041 in 2022 for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury, and the annual project has raised £545,284 in total for the organisation.

Since its launch, National Doughnut Week has raised more than £1m in total for charity.

All the money raised goes directly to the charity and for 2023 bakers, cafés, bistros, delis and lots of other small businesses from around the country are encouraged to put the important date in their diaries and support the week.

"We want to say a huge thank you to all the bakers, cafes and businesses that took part and made such an effort to help us to raise the grand total," says Cristiana Ballarini, CSM Ingredients Marketing Director Pastry Mixes.

"The Children’s Trust carries out vital work across the country and every penny raised goes towards supporting children and their families that benefit from their great work.”

The Children’s Trust delivers rehabilitation, education and community services through skilled teams who work with children and young people, and their families. Every year, 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness and it can be devastating – they may no longer be able to walk, talk, stand, sit, or feed themselves – sometimes all of this.

The Children’s Trust aims to help rebuild as many of their skills as possible, as well as their self-esteem.
