Claridge’s, one of London’s most iconic luxury hotels, has opened its first standalone bakery in the heart of Mayfair, bringing a modern twist to classic British baking. The new bakery combines artisanal craftsmanship with a sense of nostalgia, offering both locals and visitors a destination for freshly baked breads, pastries, and savoury treats.

The menu features a range of breads, including rustic sourdough loaves, granary varieties, and traditional bloomers. Sweet treats include Jammy Dodger tarts, Belgian buns, and Bakewell-style pastries, while savoury options such as sausage rolls, pork Scotch eggs, and cheese straws pay homage to beloved British favourites. Each product has been carefully crafted to balance familiar flavours with contemporary techniques, appealing to both traditional and modern palates.

Leading the bakery is internationally experienced baker Richard Hart, supported by head baker Frederic Doncel-Latorre. Their combined expertise ensures that every item is created with attention to detail, from the quality of the ingredients to the finished presentation.

The bakery space itself blends warmth and elegance, with timber finishes, a central communal table, and an open kitchen where guests can watch the baking process. The design encourages visitors to linger and experience the craftsmanship behind each loaf and pastry.
