Warrens Bakery has unveiled the first of its new Warrens Bakery pods at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The new retail pod is the Cornish company’s 49th outlet and will be a permanent fixture in the hospit. The pod will serve customers with Warrens’ exceptional and affordable range of renowned hand-crimped Cornish pasties, artisan baked goods and hot drinks, with a 100% certified, medium hand roasted Wild Meadow coffee blend from UK roastery experts Bridge Coffee. Staff and visitors will also be able to try its new selection of seasonal Spring treats including a new Lamb and Mint Pasty and gourmet range of sausage rolls.

The pod is the latest retail expansion from Warrens Bakery and follows the successful opening of its first ever London travel site last December at Liverpool Street Station, the UK’s busiest railway station. More pods are planned as the company continues to grow its presence in key UK locations.

Craig Wood, Assistant Retail Director at Warrens Bakery said, “We’re delighted to open this new pod at Derriford Hospital, alongside our already busy and well-established Warrens Bakery units on site. It’s great to be able to offer even more visitors and staff a chance to enjoy our freshly baked food and hot drinks."

Warrens Bakery was esta blished on the cobbled streets of St. Just in Cornwall when two Cornish families, the Warrens and the Harveys, united in marriage in 1860 to share their love for baking and brought together a host of artisan baking skills. Over 160 years later, it now has 48 bakery stores in UK high streets, railway stations and roadside locations.
