STORY: Jestic acquires Malibu Corporation

Jestic Foodservice Equipment recently announced the acquisition of Malibu Corporation Ltd (Malibu), a long-established distributor of foodservice equipment based in Trafford Park, Manchester.

Malibu was founded in 1982 and has a strong reputation as a family-run business supplying catering equipment including heavy duty griddles, ventless fryers, ice cream machines and drawer warmers to casual dining and quick service restaurants, hotels and convenience stores across the UK.

Speaking of the acquisition, Ben Dale, Jestic’s managing director, says there’s an  “obvious synergy” between the two companies’ philosophies:

“We are delighted to welcome Malibu Corporation to the Jestic family and look forward to working with them to further grow the business. This is an exciting chapter in the growth of Jestic and the range of equipment distributed by Malibu perfectly complements and broadens our existing portfolio.

There is also a great cultural fit between the two companies, who share the same values and a commitment to work collaboratively with customers and provide the highest possible levels of service.”

Malibu will continue to operate as a separate company under the existing name, but Jestic will be investing heavily in the facilities at the Manchester site in order to create a fully-equipped test kitchen and meeting facility for Jestic customers in the north of England.

Tony Keating, former Malibu owner and current managing director, will continue to be involved in the business for the foreseeable future.
