STORY: New bite-sized canapés from Pâtissier Tipiak

Pâtissier Tipiak has launched a new selection of bite-sized canapés to the UK food service market.

The ‘thaw and serve’ Mediterranean Canapés Selection features nine different flavours, including mango apricot chutney, mini cheese and ham rolls and sesame seeds on mini brioche, smoked salmon, tzatziki, cucumber and poppy seeds on mini blini, goat's cheese and fig on walnut bread, and tuna, stewed piquillos, capers and black olives on sandwich bread.

Tipiak’s best-selling canapés product in France, the bite-sized canapés are suitable for buffets, conferences, weddings, afternoon teas, graduations and other events.

The new selection complements Tipiak’s existing range of canapés, which are available through frozen food distributor Central Foods.

Marie-Emmanuelle Chessé, international development project manager at Tipiak, says: “Our new Mediterranean Canapés deliver great taste and quality in a convenient, one-bite format. They are our most popular canapés product in France, and we are delighted to have now launched the selection to the food service sector in the UK.”

The new canapés are packed on new gold-coloured cardboard trays, which are 100% recyclable. Composed of more than 50% cellulosic fibres, which come from plant cell walls and are biodegradable, the packaging is regarded as ‘paper-carton’ – meaning it is made of paper but not lined with plastic or aluminium, like traditional cartons.

Each Mediterranean Canapés Selection box contains 63 individual pieces – seven of each of the nine different flavours.
