STORY: Baker adapts and flourishes

Cumbrian cake maker Lisa Smith has adapted her business to keep her team safe and busy where she can and try to help in some small way.

Lisa said: “Over the years you’ve popped in, you’ve chatted to us in the shop, tried a sample or two and along the way we’ve become firm friends. But for a little while all has to change.

We’ve all got to have our cake and eat it in a slightly different way… which is why we’ve put together several online mini gift boxes to help bring you a little cheer.”

Ginger Baker’s flagship shop is still open at Plumgarth’s but in accordance with government guidelines they’ve instigated additional hygiene controls to ensure our customers and staff stay safe – and alongside that they’ve also adopted an even more stringent regime of cleaning protocols.

She added: “This isn’t going to be easy for any of us so please bear with us while we work through this, together we’ll muddle through and make it to the other side… in the meantime support your favourite artisan cake makers with a little online love and get one of our delicious cake selections delivered to your door.”
