STORY: Dawn Foods launches its Halloween range

Dawn Foods has launched four new products for Halloween, the first significant event in 2020 that bakers will be able to get their teeth into post ‘lockdown’ and in the run up to Christmas.

The finished frozen Halloween products are ideal for time-press operators with limited staff resources who still want to maximise Halloween opportunities. These ‘terror-rific’ Halloween products have great on-shelf impact to drive sales and each feature paper packaging to ensure minimal handling is achieved:

A Halloween Duo-filled Blackcurrant and Orange Donut, double injected, oozing with blackcurrant and orange sauce filling, topped with eye-catching orange and chocolate sprinkles and presented in a Halloween themed cup

A Halloween Orange, White Chocolate and Cranberry American-style Cookie with a ‘blood orange’ and vanilla flavour base and more-ish white chocolate and cranberry inclusions. This cookie is single wrapped in clear film. There are also new Halloween ‘cookie bags’ for extra visual appeal.

A Halloween Blood Orange and Chocolate Muffin with ‘blood orange’ flavour and colour base, delicious chocolate chunk inclusions, and Halloween themed muffin cup for additional shelf impact

Dawn Spicy Pumpkin Filling – creamy, ready to use Dawn Pumpkin Filling with real pumpkin puree. This America-style filling has natural flavours and colours, balanced with spices. The filling is bake-stable as well as suitable for unbaked applications.

In addition, Dawn is offering a free Halloween themed toolkit with any five products purchased from Dawn’s 12.5kg bags of Plain or Chocolate Crème Cake Base, Extra Moist Muffin Base (Plain or Chocolate) or 6kg pails of Dawn Vanilla, Chocolate or Orange Frosting. Each toolkit contains Dobla branded chocolate bat decorations and point of sale material, ideal for bakers to easily create a ghoulish range of Halloween themed sweet bakes and decorate in-store.

Jacqui Passmore, Marketing Manager UK and Ireland at Dawn Foods, said: “Halloween is the third biggest retail event after Christmas and Easter. Following the uncertainty of this year, we predict that bakers will want to go to town with Halloween, but budgets may be tighter than usual and fewer staff available. We’ve introduced thaw and serve options as well as the toolkits to help bakers make Halloween as easy – and profitable – as possible.”
