STORY: Fatherson Bakery raises £2,500 for NHS Heroes

The award-winning Fatherson Bakery has raised £2,500 for the NHS, thanks to a donation of sales from its NHS 6 Great British Fairy Cakes special pack – which were specially made for with an edible Union Jack Flag topper and Union Jack Cases in honour of the NHS.

Since April 2020, for every pack sold, Fatherson Bakery donated 10p to the NHS as a thank-you for the hard work and heroism of its workers during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Laurence Smith, Managing Director and owner of Fatherson Bakery, said: "We pride ourselves on our corporate social responsibility, which sits at the heart of what we do daily and it includes supporting local charities such as the food bank in Alcester.

"Coupled with this has been the investment we have made to put into place the very latest ‘green eco packaging’ innovation to tackle the growing environmental needs and reducing wastage such as the use of plastics. And while supporting charities and adopting ‘green friendly’ business strategies has been essential, so too is ensuring we source all ingredients we bake with within the UK, with a majority of our baking ingredients obtained from local suppliers.”

He added: “As local bakers in the UK, we are extremely proud to support our national and local NHS heroes during such turbulent times.”

Renowned for creating a ‘taste of homemade’ when it comes to bakery innovation, every Fatherson Bakery range uses ‘best in class’ quality ingredients that are all locally sourced. Fatherson Bakery prides itself in using fresh ingredients to replicate the same much-loved baking practices used in the home kitchen. Packed in eco-friendly packaging which is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable.

NHS 6 Great British Fairy Cakes special packs are available to purchase at Co-Op, Budgens, Nisa, Londis, Spar, Dobbies, Blue Diamond and Morrison’s.
