STORY: National Doughnut Week 2021: Where can I buy a doughnut?

The most tantalising, sugar coated, delicious week of the year, National Doughnut Week, is back celebrating its 30th anniversary.  The week will run from Saturday 10th July- Sunday 18th July to raise funds for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.

To get involved in the fun, simply purchase a delicious doughnut from a participating baker. Find your nearest baker here and see our quick round up below of some of delicious doughnuts you can pick up during the week!

Greenhalgh’s (65 stores across the north of England)

The popular craft bakery chain will be joining in the fun with its usual range of top quality doughnuts.

Dunn’s Bakery (Crouch End and Muswell Hill, London)

Dunn’s is home to the birth of National Doughnut Week, as independent baker Christopher Freeman set up the fundraising event back in 1991. It’s now run by Lewis Freeman who will be creating doughnut magic via Lotus and Oreo doughnuts during NDW.

Kings Cliffe Bakery – Stamford and Market Harborough

A ‘traditionally styled regional bakery, all the handmade bespoke doughnuts will be available at both stores. Flavours will include Caramac Classics, Oreo, Malteser, Aero, Lemon Cheesecake and Caramel Custard amongst others.

Dipz Doughnuts – Lancaster

The team will be making very special artisan bakery handcrafted doughnuts in a range of flavours.

Planet Doughnut – Shropshire

Planet Doughnut a family run doughnut bakery based in Shropshire making doughnuts that little bit different including a pick n mix doughnut and a Percy Pig doughnut.

DoughNotts – Nottingham, Leicester, Lincoln

Handmade doughnuts throughout the East Midlands, coming rough and ready with all manner of mouth-watering toppings including vegan doughnuts, too. National Doughnut Week flavours include Strawberries & Cream, Biscoff cream, Oreo Cream, Apple Crumble, Chocolate Crunch, Hazelnut Goodness and Weekend Billionaire.

Count With Curly Bakery

The owner Lauren is making low calorie treat boxes as a healthier option and to fit into every day diets that include doughnuts under 200 calories! Flavours include The Homer - buttermilk doughnut topped with pink white chocolate and sprinkles; The Cookie Monster - buttermilk doughnut topped with blue white chocolate and chocolate chip cookie; The Twirl - buttermilk Doughnut topped with melted twirl; Lemon Glazed - buttermilk doughnut with a lemon icing and a limited edition Double Chocolate Doughnut - chocolate buttermilk doughnut topped with melted galaxy.

Craddocks Bakery Ashtead, Surrey

The team will be producing the usual range of Sugar Ring, Jam. Apple and Custard doughnuts with glazed versions of the four. They will also be doing a chocolate frosting and glazed doughnut exclusively for National Doughnut Week.

Rumwell Farm Shop Taunton

Will be serving a variety of dougnuts on different days: 10th and 11th July -  Rhubarb & custard; 12th and 13th July - Maple and Pecan; 14th and 15th July Chocolate Orange, 16th and 17th  July Summer Berry. 18th July Apple and Blackberry. And the doughnut of the month is Banoffee.

Warings Bakery (stores throughout Berkshire and Hampshire)

Every year Warings Bakery create a fun theme for National Doughnut Week and this year of course it’s a very special Doughnut party theme with arrange of very special confectionery themed doughnuts!

Birds Bakery (stores throughout the Midlands)

Birds Bakery is a frequent participant of National Doughnut Week. This year it has launched special Strawberries and Cream, Football themed and the traditional caramel, cream and jam doughnuts.
