STORY: 2022 City Food Lecture announced

The 2022 City Food Lecture will take place on Thursday 17th February 2022.

The 2022 City Food Lecture is set to be a very special event in the food industry calendar as it will be the 21st anniversary of the event. Like all previous lectures, City Food Lecture prides itself on gathering the who’s who in the food and agricultural industries as it is organised by the seven City of London livery companies: the Worshipful Company of Bakers, Butchers, Cooks, Farmers, Fishmongers, Fruiterers and of Poulters and will yet again focus on the very latest topics of discussion driving the industry forward in 2022 and beyond.

The event will take place at London’s Guildhall, plus guests who are unable to physically attend will be able to join remotely via a virtual hub.

In the lead up to the event, there will be a number of announcements to share, the next being the Key Note Speaker followed by the panellists and lecture theme.

John Giles, chairman of City Food Lecture (pictured) said: “2022 marks a huge moment in the history of the City Food Lecture as we will be celebrating our 21st lecture. Back in 2001 we started out by looking at ‘The UK food chain – making life better’ led by key note speaker, Peter Blackburn, CBE and former chairman and CEO of Nestle and over the years each lecture has been led by an equally hot topic led by our key note speaker and panel and we’ve enjoyed the company of the who’s who with this regard.

“2022 will be no different – we have always set out our stall to be at the forefront of the burning issues we face across the food and agricultural sectors across our livery companies, and we look forward to once again gathering 600+ industry attendees, our livery men and women as well as the future industry leaders from our student attendees next February.”
