STORY: Fundraising Week Taking Place 20th-28th May 2023

Calling all bakers and coffee shops who want to raise money for charity - National Doughnut Week 2023 will take place 20-28th May.

The charity week raised £36,041 in 2022 for national charity The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury and has raised £545,284 in total for the charity.

All the money raised goes directly to the charity and for 2023 bakers, cafés, bistros, delis and lots of other small businesses from around the country are encouraged to put the important date in their diaries and take part and support the week.

The Children’s Trust delivers rehabilitation, education and community services through skilled teams who work with children and young people, and their families. Every year 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness and it can be devastating – they may no longer be able to walk, talk, stand, sit, or feed themselves – sometimes all of these abilities. The Children’s Trust aims to help rebuild as many of their skills as possible, as well as their self-esteem.

Miriam Bernhart, Marketing Director, Bread & Pastry Solutions CSM Ingredients comments: “2022 was a really successful year for National Doughnut Week, raising over £36,000. We want to say a huge thank you to all the bakers, cafes and businesses that took part and made such an effort to help us to raise the grand total.  The Children’s Trust carries out vital work across the country and every penny raised goes towards supporting children and their families that benefit from their great work.”
