HOLIDAYS ARE COMING...

East Midlands favourite, Birds Bakery, is set to make over 500,000 Christmas treats for the 2023 holiday season.

Along with the usual sweet and savoury goodies, Birds is aiming to produce approximately 180,000 Pork Pies, 30,000 Rudolph Cakes and 12,500 Gingerbread Elves over the course of the Christmas period.

With mince pies unsurprisingly being named as the nation’s favourite sweet pie last year, Birds Bakery is preparing for high demand, planning to make 350,000 of them – that’s the equivalent of over three times the capacity of Wembley Stadium!

Priced at 65p, or six for £3.65, Birds’ mince pies are made from the same secret recipe the family bakers used in 1919, when the company first started trading.

Lesley Bird, chief operating officer at Birds Bakery, said:

“Christmas is always a busy time for us, and we want to ensure we have enough of our holiday edition treats to go round and keep our customers happy.”

“This time of year is all about spending quality time with family and friends which is something we hold in our values at Birds Bakery. As well as the usual pies, cakes and gingerbread that our customers expect, we will be launching a Christmas product range which will be coming to our stores in the next few months.”

Alongside the annual variety of Christmas Puddings, priced from £5.95, Belgian Chocolate Lollies from £1.10, and Festive Cupcakes from £2, Birds will also be offering Milk Chocolate Nutcrackers priced at £1.20, Mini Chocolate Logs from £1.75 and Shortbread Christmas Trees from £2.15. Customers can also get their hands on a Giant Chocolate Santa, priced at £40 which is made of a whopping 750g of Belgian chocolate.

Birds Bakery has 61 stores across the region including Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. Many Birds products can also be ordered online and delivered to buyers’ homes using either Uber Eats or Just Eat delivery services.
