BAKO Launches Limited Edition Trifle Slice for 60th Birthday to Raise Money for Dementia UK

BAKO, a leading distributor of bakery products across the UK, is proud to announce the launch of a limited-edition product, the BAKO Select Raspberry Trifle Slice, to celebrate its 60th birthday.

This special edition product is part of BAKO's year-long celebration and commitment to raise funds for Dementia UK.

Established in 1964, BAKO has been distributing high-quality bakery products to independent bakers and caterers across the UK. The company offers a wide range of ingredients and finished products from quality suppliers, as well as its own BAKO Select branded range.

To mark this milestone, BAKO will donate 60p from every case sold to its charity partner, Dementia UK. The fundraising effort is part of a larger campaign aiming to raise £60,000 for the national charity. Additional activities include a team challenge to conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, later this year.

The exclusive ‘Thaw & Serve BAKO Select Raspberry Trifle Slice’ is a vanilla sponge, swirled with a tangy raspberry sauce and topped with custard cream. The trifle is sold undecorated, offering various serving suggestions with edible decorations available. The product is perfect for celebratory or simple summertime themes.

Michael Tully, CEO of BAKO, commented: "We are thrilled to mark our 60th anniversary with the launch of this special product. Not only does it allow us to celebrate with our customers, but it also supports a cause close to our hearts. We are committed to raising significant funds for Dementia UK, helping them continue their vital work."

Joanna Sullivan, Head of Community Fundraising, Events and Innovation at Dementia UK said: “We are so grateful to BAKO for organising this fundraising activity for Dementia UK. One in three people born in the UK this year will develop dementia in their lifetime. It can be exhausting and overwhelming, not only for the person with dementia, but also for the people caring for them, and their wider family and friends.

“Thanks to the hard work of our amazing fundraisers like BAKO, more families than ever will be able to access the life-changing support offered by our Admiral Nurses.”
