A bakery in a small town has captured attention online by recreating the nativity scene entirely out of bread. Hobbs House Bakery, located in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, has crafted sourdough loaves to represent the three kings, Mary, and Joseph, while baby Jesus is depicted as a baguette nestled in a rye loaf manger.

Anna Herbert, a representative of the bakery, explained that the display, affectionately named "Breadlehem," has been varnished to preserve it until Christmas. She shared that the creation has been a hit with the community, drawing lots of positive comments and engagement. According to Ms. Herbert, the light-hearted and fun nature of the display has contributed to its popularity.

She noted that the festive spirit seems to have arrived early this year, with mince pies already selling well. Describing the display, she remarked that the rounded, stubby loaves used give the figures a friendly appearance.

A photograph of Breadlehem has been widely shared on social media, with many admiring the creativity and pointing out the fitting connection between the nativity and the name Bethlehem, which translates to "house of bread."

Ms. Herbert called the display "a little bit of an artform" and emphasized that it’s more intricate to create than it might appear.
