RICH’S CELEBRATES 80 YEARS OF INNOVATION, PARTNERSHIPS AND PEOPLE

Rich’s, the global leader in creating exceptional culinary experiences, is marking 80 years of resilience and risk taking with its annual Founder’s Day event.

Founder’s Day is Rich’s celebration of the brand’s values of innovation, partnerships and people inspired by Rich’s Founder, Robert E. Rich Sr.

The celebration will take place at Rich’s production site in Andover in Hampshire on 3rd – 4th April. The production site is BRC accredited and has a food safety and quality culture at its heart. Founders’ day will be celebrated by each production shift and will be marked with delicious food, highlights about the company’s history and information about its vision for the future.

Rich’s has been producing its market-leading range—including cookies, muffins, buns, f’real milkshakes, and its newly launched gluten-free and pinsa pizza bases—around the clock.

Since opening its Andover site in 2019 to serve the UK and European markets, the company has pursued bold growth plans.

“Rich Products is celebrating 80 years as a family-owned food company—an achievement few reach. For eight decades, we’ve focused on innovation, delivering high-quality sweet bakery including cookies, muffins and buns, dairy cream alternatives, and now pizza bases that meet customer needs and delight consumers,” said Dez Paterson, Commercial Director.

“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Their success is our success, and we’re proud to be their trusted partner. From global insights to culinary problem-solving, we’re committed to delivering real solutions for today and the future.”

Now approaching a $6bn (£4.6bn) business, Rich’s roots can be traced back to the 1940s, when Robert E. Rich revolutionised the American frozen food industry with a pioneering non-dairy topping – Rich’s Whip Topping.

After struggling to sell his product, Rich travelled from Buffalo to New York to pitch it to a wider audience. Before his first demonstration, he discovered it had frozen solid during transit. Undeterred, he proceeded and found the product remained intact—revealing that a non-dairy topping could be frozen, thawed, and whipped, unlike fresh cream.

Since then, Rich’s has grown into a global business, offering sweet bakery goods, pizza bases, f’real milkshakes, dairy cream alternatives, desserts, seafood, and more—all driven by a commitment to quality, creativity, and helping customers succeed.

Thank you for your trust and support. Here’s to the next 80 years of innovation, partnership and the people who make it all possible
